Psapp & Juana Molina @ Hothouse

July 3rd, 2006

The Hothouse is my new favorite venue in Chicago. It’s a small, intimate venue in the Chicago loop that hosts world, folk and electronic acts on their small stage. Faith and I had the pleasure of seeing Psapp and Juana Molina perform there recently, and I know we’ll be back for more music and ambiance.

Psapp’s first release “Tiger, My Friend” was easily one of my favorite albums of last year. Their combination of electronics, acoustic and unusual instrumentation (including a lot of children’s toys) made their sound stand out from the pack. And their new release “All I Ever Wanted” is just as good. I’ve wanted to see Psapp ever since I’d heard their first album, curious to see how they’d pull off their sound live
