Lollapalooza 2006
March 19th, 2006The lineup was announced this week, and I snatched up my ticket for Lollapalooza 2006. The lineup is frankly hit and miss, but $150 for three days of music in downtown Chicago is a no-brainer. Even despite the fact that enduring the heat of Lollapalooza 2005 was among the most difficult things I’ve done in this life.
In particular, I’m excited to see: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, Sonic Youth, Sleater-Kinney, Iron & Wine, Reverend Horton Heat, Andrew Bird, Stars, Editors, Aqualung, The Frames, The Redwalls, The Subways, Of Montreal, The M’s, Sybris, and Be Your Own Pet.
I’m really hoping that they have actual water this year instead of $4 bottles of SmartWater. Coachella even had cheaper water than that, and it’s in the desert. I’ve been thinking that to survive this year’s three-day festival, I may need to go into training now. Maybe going to the gym every week and spending 12 hours in the sauna listening to my iPod or something could prepare me for August.

You should post some comments along with your del.icio.us links, a la Daring Fireball….those of us in the peanut galleries without a designer’s sensibility don’t know what we’re looking at…

the water was $4/bottle because you weren’t in the desert. somebody figured it wasn’t as important as beer. btw, chicago heat is better than chicago cold.

Ben,
Good point. I just figured out how to do that.

Nice redesign, Tony. A buck fifty is steep, but maybe having it 7 days later will make it 7 degree cooler, which would make the temperature aboue 103 this time around?
