This is one of those concerts where by going, I have corrected a previous concert injustice. The Doves injustice was that earlier this year they cancelled their Coachella appearance in addition to a few dates that included Chicago for a while, then later didn’t. So while I thought I had missed them, I really could have seen them afterall. Which really ticked me off becauses I enjoy their new album “Some Cities” quite a bit.

But now I’ve seen them, and the score is settled. The karma is cleaned between The Doves and I. Strangely, the show wasn’t that exciting. I mean, they were great, it was a good setlist, they performed well – but I just wasn’t in the moment for some reason, probably still reeling a bit from the marathon drive from Naperville to The Riviera on the same night as a Cubs game. In the future, I’ll need to plot my concert calendar against the Cubs home game schedule, and make the necessary adjustments.
