Stereophonics @ Taste of Chicago

July 4th, 2005

Since Summerfest was categorically disappointing on a music level, I really wanted to see the Stereophonics to redeem the weekend. Taste of Chicago is a poorly organized, crowded, mess of people eating a variety of meats on sticks. And it’s stinky. Normally, I can’t smell a thing due to my allergies, so either…

a) the Zyrtec is really going to work on me… or b) The Taste of Chicago should be renamed to "Smell of a Stable".

Despite the hordes of people, the stupid ticket system for purchasing beer or food, and the not-so-faint smell of equestrian activity – it was a great day. Despite the earlier rain, the clouds parted just long enough for the Stereophonics to come out and kick some ass. I’ve seen them twice this year now, and they’ve been spot-on both times.
