My PDA is Not to be Trusted
December 20th, 2004My Palm 505 is on the ropes, and unless I get a Treo next year, this might be my last PDA. I don’t mind carrying gadgets, I actually feel a bit naked without a gadget in my pocket. But the PDA has been of dubious necessity this last year. Especially since a few times this year, my Palm 505 has taken it upon itself to erase all my data.
I can put appointments in my phone (albeit slowly), and my iPod is pretty handy for carrying my calendar and contacts, plus a few audiobooks and couple thousand songs. But what I really think I could use right now is something a bit more low-fi.
Enter the Moleskine
There’s not much to it, other than it’s a small notebook with a durable cover that will fit in the inside pocket of a jacket. No data integrity issues, no worry about backups. It’s not searchable by keyword, but my phone is. And it might be nice to have a little notebook again to do little sketches and take spontaneous notes.
